We  pride ourselves on our data-driven approach. We use mostly two methods: online ethnography and network analysis. We use online ethnography, or QDA (qualitative data analysis) to condense conclusions from large online conversations; it is cheap and fast, as we do it right on the Edgeryders platform. We use network analysis to enhance ethnographic analysis (statements by more central individuals can be given more weight); we also use it to diagnose the state of health of the community on conversation.

The Edgeryders platform is evolving into an integrated environment for a data-driven analysis of collectively intelligent processes. On it, we run prototypes of two applications we are developing: OpenEthnographer, for generating rich, situated ethnographic coding; and Edgesense, near-real time network analysis of the Edgeryders conversation. You can see Edgesense in action here. Learn more
