Growing an Edgeryders high speed mobile division to do cultural interventions and amplify local grassroots voices into global ones. We do deep community building and turn cities into social innovation sanboxes. This is a group where we share knowledge, propose projects, plan pitching and fundraising efforts. Introduce yourself below and tell us where you are, what you are up to and how you see yourself joining the Culture Squad.

Culture and OpenCare

I have been offered a space and time as part of a large performing arts festival in London. The festival takes place in the underground vaults beneath Waterloo Station and runs from the end of January to the middle of March. Bringing performers, comedians and artists from around the world the festival is one of the largest and longest Fringe Theatre Festivals in the UK and is growing in stature every year. Help us pitch the Culture Squad to cities - feedback needed!

A bit of context: at LOTE in Brussels earlier this year we were advised by key people who like us to develop a brochure style presentation of the team based on what distinguishes our work from other organisations'. The documentation from that session is here.

So we decided to attempt to go for verticalization in Edgeryders -explain why and how we are really good at something - in this case mobilizing collective intelligence for change in cities.

Galway makes it to European Capital of Culture 2020!!

Europe is a strange place. One can feel misery and hopelessness seeing how cities are plagued with division, conflict and death (I am writing this the morning after the attack in Nice). But at the same time one can feel pride seeing people choose to come together to build instead of dismantle.

Galway is such a place right now.

"Thrivable culture"

I'm interested to support the Culture strand of Edgeryders by sharing work I've been doing on 'thrivable culture' - or how cultural organisations and creative practitioners can help people, communities and places thrive. I've developed a framework for planning and evaluating projects that is inspired by Theory of Change, but which is more integrated, and acknowledges the importance of creating the conditions for thriving rather than always/only seeking measurable impacts.
