I will create subtitles for a Lote4 or Edgeryders video, in languages that I know

The Edgeryders network has members all across the world, and the language diversity is huge! We want to build on this to make Lote4 accessible to people with impaired hearing. Here is how we have done this in the past, using Amara.

How to complete this task

Leave a comment below saying you are up for this and which languages you can translate from and into. You know, nothing happens on Edgeryders until we start interacting with each other. As soon as we have the video, we’ll get back and get working as a distributed translation team :slight_smile:

This task is completed when subtitles are added and acknowledged by the video creator.

Steps to get your full Lote4 ticket

  1. You have completed the task, which is tentatively worth half a ticket. Tell us how long it took because the work may end up getting you a whole ticket. If not, consider taking on another task!

  2. Go to MakerFox.com and register there with the same username as the one you have here on Edgeryders. Now go ahead and order your Lote4 ticket.

  3. Wait to receive your ticket! Community members at Edgeryders will check how many tasks you’ve performed and it they add up to the value of a ticket, they’ll make sure to send it to you.

This task belongs to the Communications and social media team, go there if you want to meet the rest of the team members.

I’m up for this. I can transcribe in English, and translate French or German into English.

[Presumably the process is that we first transcribe the presentation in the language used there, then translate those subtitles?]

I can transcribe into English and translate subtitles to Arabic or French I also have some experience using Amara and subtitle workshop software for time adjustment and so
