Undergraduate student at Tanta Engineering College, Egypt, Mostafa Hemdan is a young ambitious entrepreneur. He led a team of 20 students in the establishment of an e-waste "electronic waste" recycling company - RecycloBekia - during his second-year degree in the field of communications and electronics.
RecycloBekia started with very low capital in a small garage in Egypt, then won the first place at the INJAZ Egypt Competition 2011, and the "Fedex Access Award" at the INJAZ AL-Arab regional competition 2012. It was nominated among the top 20 finalists at the "Start with Google" competition.
RecycloBekia is among the 15 top social enterprises and platforms seeking to empower social entrepreneurs in the Arab world, and was recently recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the "10 Middle Eastern start-ups you need to know".
