Food Supply Unchained

We develop the shortest possible food supply chains to support small-scale farmers and a healthy nutrition. Actually it’s just direct links between producers and consumers, not chains. The concept revolves around connecting the traditional, weekly Farmer’s Markets to the Internet. It also includes a combined shipping solution for cost-efficient delivery in the local area and throughout Europe.

This new concept is currently being implemented by Lois in Matera, Basilicata, Italy, as part of the unMonastery's set of projects, and by Epelia in Germany (a start-up food shopping portal, which also provides the software infrastructure for this system).

If you want to set up a self-sustaining node of this system at your location, or have more ideas for supporting a healthy small-producer based food economy: let’s talk! Simply post something to this project …
