September presentation to the neighbors is over. we need to place a more permanent poster or sign in the street.
objectives of the action
raise awareness about the project to neighbours and if they want they can be informed about the evolution of the project via a neighbors-only newsletter
raise awareness about the possibility to buy an apartment in the cohousing
text of the poster
i suggest we use this text
i suggest we try to work with a graphic designer to improve the graphic layout once the text is approved,
printing and installation
i suggest going cheap and zero risk.
print the design it in A3 paper and stick it to the wall using wheatpasting. if the paper gets broken, wet or vandalized we just paste more on top
Happy to hear your opinion and improvement suggestions @reef-external . Thanks!
I would recommend we make a “neighbours” section at the top menu of the website. We could put some general text there plus some links to key documents and an option to register for a “Neighbours Newsletter”.
Using a QR code without writing out the full URL creates a barrier for people who don’t own a smartphone, so my recommendation would be to add the URL somewhere.
We don’t have more information about the apartments yet, so I would go more for something along the lines of “restez informés sur l’évolution de notre projet, y inclu la finalisation du plan et la disponibilité des appartements”.
Once you have a final version of the French text, the Dutch text will need an update.
thank you for your feedback, this point seems to me like another project on it’s own. i was thinkin to directly point them to the emails subscription form. something similar to this
another option is that we point them to the site in french and we add a specific call to action: to sign up for the newsletter to the neighbors
i’d say: we plan to do a cohousing at “this very place” or something along those lines, profiting from the controlled location of the poster!
doesn’t cohousing require a bit of explanation?
i’d be careful not to overpromise about the shared space. I would actually not mention it at at all. Or qualify for which activities the space is available.
Keeping a direct line of contact with the neighbours is really important IMHO. We want to make sure that we can send updates that are relevant for the neighbours only, and we want to make sure that they receive it.
Subscribing them to the general newsletter is not a solution to the above. In my opinion, it’s even a risk, because the general newsletter may not be of interest to them (e.g. high probability they’ll get annoyed with the emails about the presentation). If they would unsubscribe, we lose the possibility to contact them. Can you please taken my objection into consideration?
I agree that creating a landing page for the neighbours is a separate task. I wouldn’t overthink it though. Just 3-4 general sentences, a link to the Powerpoint we presented, a link to the neighbours newsletter and an occasional update should be enough.
If it helps, I guess @alberto and I can provide the text when we’re back from our break?
back to the poster work, i have the graphic designer aligned and waiting for instructions.
i need to send him a text . the text will be complemented with the image of the skecthes from the architect(same as last flyers) + a QR code and URL linking to the landing page for those passers by who want to know more
I suggest very simple text. what do you think ?
French: “Ici bientôt : un habitat groupé en auto-gestion.”
Dutch: “Hier binnenkort: een zelfbeheer co-housing.”
I would add a link to the landing page https://thereef.brussels called “Voisins” and later one called “Buren”. So now we have three links in the main menu, we would have five.
@alberto fine with me, then could you please create a new page for the NL version? I will add the content that is being currently translating. work in progress by @joannes
Easy, just create a new topic under web content , (here it is. To generate a website with the webkit technology from any Edgeryders topic, just use a link composed by
https://start.edgeryders.eu/page/ + the number at the end of the topic’s URL. IN this case, the topic’s URL is https://edgeryders.eu/t/hallo-ik-ben-the-reef/20524, so the website is at https://start.edgeryders.eu/page/20524
