Do you know what you are trading off?

And do you agree to it?

In this world of “free” services, we all know that they are not free at all, but rather they just don’t charge you a direct fee because they get paid by selling your data top advertisers and other sites. But even if you say ok to their piece about cookies and even if you set up your privacy parameters, that doesn’t cover everything. Or does it? And how can we even tell?

It’s going to get even more interesting as more and more ‘smart’ appliances and devices come online. They gather information nonstop. That data then combines with other data into profiles you don’t control and usually don’t even know about. What do we do about it? Because this trend goes opposite to what a ‘human centered internet’ should be.
