hey John, just seeing this now - not sure I understand what your question was referring to?
Hugi is this something you guys still need help with and if so with what? Plus - do people need to be Swedish speakers?
hi @matthias and you every manage to get together with @kristofer over this?Could the OCI Lab be a good category to set it up for? The first cycle is coming to an end anyway so it’s the time to set it up now for the covid19 special call…
Ok guys, follow up from this conversation I suggest that we organise a follow up call bringing together those of us who are interested in the theme of work.
To look at what conversations we ought to be having on the topic, with an aim to understand what actions we could take to support people currently struggling to cope with work-related challenges.
Those of us who expressed interest in this topic are:
@amelia
@noemi
@kajafarszky
@johncoate
@mariaeuler
@ichraf
@alex_levene
@katerinabc
Who can take the lead on defining the content of the call and preparing the invitation for it together with e.g @noemi ?
If you need something as a point of departure, check out this thing @owen and I put together with help from James and @hugi (ignore the broken links, layout issues etc - they should be fixed by the weekend!): https://erwork.netlify.com/
hey @daveed I saw in another thread that you guys are doing something Covid19 related, thought yu might be interested in this…
Hi guys, it seems we now have a group that is interested in looking at how we can organise people to help boost the impact of different projects responding to the crisis. One of the ways we have been experimenting is by running a kind of peer to peer incubator online. We start by reaching out to people who have done some work already on a promising solution (e.g have a well thought through concept, have done the science or technology development or already have an initiative up and running). And then we mobile people who can support their work either in person (put in their knowledge, time, skills, connections) or provide resources (materials, equipment, money etc). The first iteration began last year and is now coming to an end with 14 initiatives having “graduated” form the program. So it makes sense to put what we have collectively learned from the experience into helping people respond to the ongoing crisis.
it was coordinated by @OCILab @zmorda @Wajdibr @amiraGbs and myself were heavily involved in driving it.

have either in some way been involved, or expressed some interest in the work at some point.
@jasen_lakic and @hires I think this might be relevant to you also?
Would any of you be interested in a call to get to know a bit more about what was done and see how it meshes with what you are currently doing or might be interested to do in response to the crisis?
@ayari.taha well spotted, I’ve seen many testimonials online with people saying they are using this downtime to make study plans - so new routines would probably help. Did you test it yourself ?
Yes indeed. Our brain create habits to automate doing things. Those steps helps to adopt new good habits to adapt with this new situations.
Yeah i am definitely interested and want to participate in the next call.
Don’t recall. So, let it go.
Yes, very happy to join a call! I’ve been part of a few different initiatives/conversations, and it seems there’s a big need to understand what is needed where and how (demand-focus) and match with possible supplies.
There’s a lot of initiatives happening everywhere, here’s a massive list of challenges that were handed to 40,000 participants in the German hackathon last weekend, and we’re still waiting for the judges to determine the interesting projects that came out, but there’s been more than a few that have collected momentum. (Similar effort will happen in South America from April 3-5: cadadiacuenta.org)
Hello @yassine_el_metoui_84 next week we will launch a call of application for an acceleration program we will send you the details soon.
So, since last week @owen and I with help from @hugi and James have gotten this site up: work.edgeryders.eu.
On the other side of Edgeryders, makers are producing protective visors for medical personnel. We have makers, doctors and material coordinators collaborating in this thread (in Swedish, but ping @nadia) :

Hi @nadia
Yes, we are deep in it, just completed the John Hopkins COVID19 Design Challenge.
Here is the final deck that we put together for the next two weeks
This is just the start of the COVID19 Info Bridging project, and we would love to collaborate.

This weekend at Blivande, @hampus has started a production line for protective smocks and visors at Blivande.
@Ollxor and I have spent the last few days setting up a small scale production line for producing hospital smocks and protective visors (see pictures below). Both are desperately needed all over Sweden, both within healthcare but also nursing homes for our elderly (the primary risk group). Just yesterday reports came out that a third of all nursing homes in Stockholm have confirmed COVID19 cases and there many different reports about the almost complete lack of protective gear for the workers at these institutions.
I have also been in touch with hospitals in Tanzania, Uganda and Malawi that are of course in even more dire situations (or will be when the spread starts to pick up speed there). Reports from Malawi confirm that they don’t even have access to basic soap in the hospital, let alone any protective gear. It’s important that we don’t forget about these places and people just because we are ourselves also in a crisis. Here the primary focus will be to help them get started with their own production and means to do so (machines, tools, material and knowledge). We will also activate our 3D printers and laser cutters to make visors for them.
Ping @nadia
