A relic from an age when the Internet was widely perceived as a force for the common good and individual liberation. The old noncommercial ethos was still around in 1999 (until 1993 it was forbidden to use the Internet for commercial purposes. Imagine that, eh?).
Tri-fold ( 3 panels ) brochure in A6,each panel in portrait ( (105 mm de large × 148 mm de haut), which means the excess paper outside these panels should be trimmed off.
Advice from Joannes: 200 grams matte, 100 copies for an initial quote. @Fionagui will help go to the printer’s tomorrow for a quote. Thank you !!
Dynaprint postponed at the last minute its re-opening to 18/8 due to technical problems.
Paragraphe, not too far from it, quoted: Flyer Full-color printing on both sides, Size: 315 x 148 mm (open) - 105 x 148 mm (closed), Semi-matte coated paper, 250 gsm (they have 200gsm but only in semi-matte, “2 euros cheaper” he said) + Tracing + folding:
500 copies: €317.20 excluding VAT (€383.81 incl. VAT)
“Please note that in small quantities, printing is digital. This type of printing, even on matte paper, gives a slightly glossy effect.
I need an HD (High Resolution) PDF file with a 3 mm bleed + trim points.”
Did you share the brochure with Paragraphe ? because i want to know if the current format is OK for them: Design in A4 format, which means it requires trimming of the extra bits ).
Or should I arrange 3 copies in A3 as discussed last night ?
Hey Wenwei, right I had forgotten about the A4. He usually needs the original (here the 3×A6 format recto verso) so he can put it on any preferred paper and make the recto and verso match. But if it’s not easy to export on your hand I will ask him specifically! I would still wait for the 18th if possible to ask Dynaprint, since they should be cheaper. I can also try to call Copy House (in the Center of Brussels tho)
In view of the cost, I propose to do a proper print run at a high number of copies only. We could print, cut and folder 100 copies ourselves, at my place, and have everyone have a good look at it, try it out on our friends, etc. I’ll be back in BE on Friday evening.
I did then, and he kinda cropped it himself as a “ready for scanning” final version apparently, so no need for an A3 layout! I added it here, hoping the name is ok - please change it if needed: Login – Nextcloud
Per total announced price. So for printing the brochure on 200 gsm paper:
Full-color printing on both sides, 200 gsm semi-matte paper, Format: 313 x 148.5 mm (open) - 105 x 148.5 mm (closed) + Finishing: Tracing + folding
100 copies: €228.00 excluding VAT (€275.88 including VAT)
250 copies: €262.00 excluding VAT (€317.02 including VAT)
500 copies: €315.20 excluding VAT (€381.92 including VAT)
Sorry. The proposal is to first do some prints ourselves, giving us a chance to debug and test with the target audience, before committing to a high volume (only at the high volume do I find the per-copy price acceptable).
Hello Fiona,
As you saw on the Signal group, yesterday there was quite some discussion on the flyers. Overall, the groups finds them quite expensive. We wonder if you could request:
quote for 1000 copies from the cheapest digital printer
quote for the priced with reduced paper weight (80g)
As a backup option, we would consider a A5 bi-fold format, but we will try not to change the format just now.
For info, printing 2500 copies of the flyers we’ve got now cost something like 200EUR.
