This may at this stage look confusing and I will do my best to provide full context in a summary doc before a possible meeting or call! It would, however, be vital to understand if someone would be interested in joining such a helping circle; my estimation is that we can discuss the issue on one occasion and then follow up here in the thread if needed. It may well be that we conclude that there is no problem and the helpic circle will be very short lived.
We discussed in today’s coordination group that ideally a member of @reef-recruitment would join the circle and a representant of another unit that is relatively large, i.e. @Hannah or @Jeroen, but of course also the view of other full members incl. the smaller units is important here. If you could let me know whether your interested in joining, I would then propose a few time slots for a meeting later this week (-end) / early next week.
Thank you Hannah. Judging from a recent poll from the coordination group, both Alberto and I are free coming Tuesday and Thursday evening, any chance you’d be free one of these two days? Here the poll I’m referring to: Biweekly 'coordination team' meetings - #11 by els
Just a quick update about the meeting with François, whom we asked some questions on the topic. Below are my notes, with an invitation to @Sophie_B and @els to correct or complement as they see fit.
Price of the heat pumps: he couldn’t give an indication of the price of a heat pump for a small unit compared to one for a big unit, and he agreed that there are indeed differences in the percentage of the total. To that he added however, that it’s important to note that the cost of building certain units is much higher than for others. A studio for example only has one façade and one window frame, whereas some of the bigger units have three façades and a whole lot of window frames.
The valuation method they use: he confirmed that the valuation method is meant to reflect resale prices, and he confirmed that in our three sibling cohousings the banks accepted their valuation.
Bigger units having a higher price: he added that project developers too struggle to sell the bigger units, as it requires finding people with two above-average incomes, which is less easy to find.
As this is the last issue we need to close before we can organise the GA, shall we maybe have another short discussion at tomorrow’s Coordination Team meeting?
Yes we can dedicate a few minutes to this topic, as the circle hasn’t been conclusive yet, and as I understand the GA should go ahead rather soon, we may want to discuss a way forward without having closure on this topic. @Hannah & @alberto I have now included a few scenarios, we discussed in our last meeting , which you can find both in the word and excel files.
