Congratulations to Edward and Linggam and to all of you! I’m really pleased for you and wish you great happiness in constructing your new home together.

This brings to an end my brief period of associate membership of the wonderful community which is The Reef. Even in the few encounters I had (less than I would have hoped due to difficult circumstances at my end) I was struck by a really joyful combination of kindness, respect, efficiency, energy, enthusiasm and commitment to really solid values. It really gives me hope for the future to see little cells of positive energy like yours, whose waves can spread much, much further than your future home in Jette. Butterfly wings…

I will follow your journey with great interest and would be very happy to keep in touch and help out if there’s anything I could usefully do?

Take care, all of you, and enjoy the next intensive stages of the project.

Wishing you all the very best,

Sincerely ,

Elise

Dear all,
after a few weeks as associate members we decided not to continue our journey with you. It is not a „Hell no!“, but it would no longer be a „Hell yes!“ either from our side.

This choice comes after taking time to deeply reflect on our current needs and realities, particularly around our financial resources, time, and emotional well-being. Keeping our roots in Berlin is essential for us right now, and balancing that (in order to get a perfect „A“ we would have to give up our home in Berlin) with full commitment to the project proved to be too overwhelming.

Needless to say that we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to meet you. Also needless to say that we would love to be part of the circle of friends of the reef, supporting you when we can (working on conflict resolution and to be part of the external mediation team would be sth. I would love to do).

We’re sharing this here so everyone is in the loop, and we’ll also reach out to some of you individually over the next few days to thank you and to catch up, these last days were difficult for us.

We’re wishing the reef all the resilience and strength and courage to navigate through the wild waters that might come, you can do this.

Ahh Sonja, so sad to hear this. I really do understand how complicated it must have been, and I understand the decision.
It has been really great to meet you, and hopefully we’ll stay in touch.
