I’m sorry you removed it, not because you are wrong about the bursary, but simply because it is a good story and one that I think is not that well understood. Canadians have a well-deserved reputation for being kind and understanding (if I can reduce things to such simplicity). But, like here in the USA, Canada’s historic treatment of native people has been quite bad and outright cruel in many cases. I have Mohawk friends who live in Akwesasne, mainly on the NY side of the St Lawrence River, but on the Canadian side too, and I have heard much about that history from them.
