Should be like above ^ ^

Hey @MariaEuler sorry for the last minute request, but could we move this to either Saturday or early next week? The reason being I have some work to finish before the weekend and my brain is still sort of half-functioning. It may also give us some time to gather more people (the more there are to test it the better…). Let me know

sure. how about Monday 11:00?

@MariaEuler That works fine

@MariaEuler there will be two options for joining this call, that we can both evaluate

The former is a bit basic, but I think it will be a better layout.

See you at 11

For edgeryders site admins and moderators only:

How to include a call in the Edgeryders Now:

  1. Create +New topic
  2. Add the tag ‘call’
  3. Select a date + time in the calendar (below the Topic Category menu, as seen below)

  1. Include this editable code in the post: (you can use /team, /community, /outreach in the link below and personalise the ‘info:’ information)

and everyone can/should join via this link: https://now.edgeryders.eu/call/community

Currently the room is always open and the link will always send you there. What happens is just dependend on the time. It is like the “watercooler” or Kitchen of edgeryders.

For now we will mainly use it for team calls.

Yes, to recap a few points we made:

  • Video with three participants worked very well. There was good quality and no latency issues. It remains to be test with more participants. If 5/6 people need to spontaneously video conference, this would be a good opportunity to test it further.
  • We will be using it for team calls and unscheduled calls for now. As @MariaEuler mentioned it might be not be the best time to move our community calls, asking members who have just been on-boarded with zoom to change their setup on short notice.
  • The chat will be improved In particular, images and links, as well a quick way to take call notes within the chat interface and have these exported to the platform
  • calls.edgeryders.eu is a page to consolidate all our calls in one place, making it easier for new people to see what calls are happening this week. It’s a separate thing from now.edgeryders.eu.

The process to add scheduled calls to that page:

  • Create a new topic with the tag call + any specific topic or channel, for example covid19, community or team
  • Add an event schedule to this topic, as shown here:
  • Including a small code snippet that has info on the call:
{
"host": "link to the call (zoom/skype/now.edgeryders.eu)",
"info": "basic info about the call"
}

Include this code inside a code block in the post, by selecting the text and clicking on the code button in the toolbar:

The call will show up on the calendar.
