Notes from Tarfaya. Should we start the residency here?

Over here is California satellite broadband is much more expensive than lines especially when the data amounts go higher.

Ok, So my suggestion is to check out Rabat, Fez and Marrakech to explore projects and people doing interesting work. if you Ping Hazem whenever you post photos/ updates on FB about them so he can follow up and onboard them. Same thing for the people you met in Tarfaya, Essaouira and Sidi Kaouki?

While you are checking things out in Rabat and Marrakech etc we can start working online to build the community around the space. For example, we would need Moustapha or Salim and others who have projects to come and talk to us and the rest of the community here. So we can figure out the planning, what projects to do in the house and which people we need to bring in from the global Edgeryders community and beyond.

Reason? In order to get something done in a short time in the house we need to know what people want to work on, how to move their project forward and a concrete thing that can realistically be achieved in a short time together, how to build them (ideally ideas and specifications or instructables), what materials and or tools are needed and if what we can get locally or need to bring with us from abroadā€¦ etc. Having this information will then we also know how big a house we need and for how long.

We have a process for going from a fuzzy challenge or idea, to a working prototype of a useful/meaningful project - hereā€™s a visualisat that @susa and I made some time ago:

So what does this mean for how we work?

You meet someone local who wants to do something in their village/town/city. You tag both the person, and Hazem on a photo about them/their place etc. We then reach out to them and interview them to understand the context, background etc. We push it out on social media and engage others with relevant/ complimentary projects or skills to connect with them and discuss possible collaboration or specific thing to do together in the house.
