I had a look at the agenda and saw that it is not yet available (which is totally fine).
I did wanted to know beforehand if this will be a FM-only plenary though, so I know what to communicate to AM/EM.
I personally would object to making this a FM only plenary, on several considerations: 1. Giving opportunities to EM/AM to interact meaningfully with us 2. This topic can have implications for AM who will becoming FM later on, it seems only balanced to be transparent about it with them as well.
I would like to understand better the desire to turn this into a FM plenary only and ask if saying that during this topic AM/EM are observing only can suffice?
Of course, if @Dave_Starhawk prefers to keep it FM-only, I will remove my objections.
The agenda for Friday’s meeting is ready in the meantime, albeit for the moment without the supporting documents, which the Sosim Team will share as soon as they are ready.
As for your point on participation I hear that you find it important to involve the EMs and AMs, and I fully agree. My sense is that the first topic on the agenda is so sensitive however that we would have scheduled it for the FM meeting on 01/10 if we would have had more time. I don’t want to be the person making the call though, so my request is to @alberto or @els to come with a proposal on the meeting’s participation. Would you be willing to do that?
As stated by Sterre, I will be in an online training till 20:00 and as I will be the presenter of ‘dave’s entry into the société simple’, i would suggest to switch the two topics.
I would propose to make the PM open for FM and AM, but to keep it closed for EM. I agree with your considerations, on the other hand I think it is important to create a space where the FMs can feel at ease to speak their mind when it comes to sensitive subjects. I think most FM’s have met the current AM’s so I think that won’t be a problem. @LuciaM@Lee (and the rest of the FM): is this something that works for you?
I personally see some contradiction between only sharing the proposal on a need-to-know basis (i.e. it will not be on Nextcloud) and inviting all AMs, including those who currently don’t have a realistic perspective on full membership. I’m not saying I’m objecting, but I would like to hear from @alberto, who is somewhat taking the lead on this proposal.
There has been some unclarity about whether Astrid can apply or not, now that Eduard&Lingga have applied.
There was some time spent in the last online FM’s meeting, but I hear from different people this didn’t really create the clarity it needs, and we didn’t really do a round to see what everyone thought about this.
Would it be possible to include a short round in the PM on this?
R&O also has worked on a proposal, but I guess with adding the above point, there won’t be any time left. It could go onto the agenda of the FM meeting of 01/10 but I think it would be interesting that EM/AM are present, so better to foresee it on the PM of 05/10 Creating a (limited) reserve of FM's
