Love it!
It looks really good! Well done @Sterre! Let me know when you need the French translation and I can do it (probably not the technical part of adding it onto the webpage
).
Thank you @Odile! If you have time to do it this weekend, I can launch all the pages Sunday night (Iâm working on the Dutch translation). You donât need to translate the mini-bios, they are already done.
If you canât make it this weekend, Guillaume will do it Sundaynight/Monday.
I am going to do it straight away. Iâll send it to you by message here.
I agree, with a caveat: since team membership is flexible, documentation is not optional. I other words, a team cannot decide to take on technical debt without âpaying it forwardâ by documenting what it did. Should @Sterre wish to move to a different team in the future, or go on a break, the responsibility to keep the site up to date will be taken on by others, and they will need good instructions to help them.
Also a minor point:
We chose English because this is the language that we use among us.
I would eliminate this. It reads like a tautology: why do we speak English with each other? Because we speak English with each other. I know it means something slightly different, but what it really means is: when we interact in twos or threes, we speak whichever language the two or three people in question find most convenient. The language of plenaries etc. is English as a way to establish a level playing field, since almost all of us speak English as a foreign language (it is explained in the next bullet point).
@Sterre The French translation is done. This is the link to the document where I wrote the French version of your text. I also attached all the necessary links to the key words (like you did in your document).
One comment: for our social media, take away Meetup (we donât use it anymore).
Great work @Sterre !
hi @Sterre
a question : when i launch a google search âcohousing Jetteâ, our website âonlyâ comes out as the fourth result.
You see the title âThe Reefâ.
I wonder if we cannot change it to âThe Reef - cohousing in Jetteâ to end up higher in this search result / give a bit more info right away about what âThe Reefâ is.
maybe a detail..
Unless you are taking specific steps (clear cache, VPN/Tor etc.), your search results are personalized. For me The Reef comes fifth, but the 1st one is an article about The Reef on the Samenhuizen site.
Main issue here is the term âcohousingâ, that Google interprets as overlapping with co-location just because it can then serve some ads. When I search for "cohousing Brussls/Brussel/Bruxelles we are not even in the first page.
I think Google search is a lost cause, completely enshittified at this point. I have not used it in the last three years.
For the record, Iâm not in team external.
Iâll provide instructions and leave a link here and with team external.
Youâre right. Done.
Itâs a good observation, but I think @alberto is right. Thereâs not much we can do to influence this.
And the full website is now launched! @reef-external @Lee Who can do a review? Check for errors/typos/etc.
Instruction (videos) will follow shortly.
Thanks a lot to @Lee for an updated text and @Odile for the translation and the links in the document! Made it easier for me.
I love it! Well done @Sterre !

Thanks @Sterre !
Thanks so much @Sterre! I think it really looks beautiful!
I quickly reviewed the English and Dutch version, all looks good to me. If you would want to go for perfection (not needed): in the NL version there is a full stop and possibly the word âbosâ missing after âLaarbeekâ.
Is it realistic to aim at a move-in in early 2029 ? If yes, thatâs great news ! Though I thought I heard 2030 mentioned during a meeting, so wanted to check.
The way things stand now itâs really 2029.
It is beautiful and certainly something to advertise on social media!! ![]()

thank you for your work @Sterre. it looks much nicer! i managed to login to wordpress and seems clear. is this the place where we edit the website now.
one questionâŚ
the domain âthereef.brusselsâ now automatically redirects to âstaging.thereef.brusselsâ. is this a permanent thing? thank you
Yes. Or more modestly, changing that would mean doing some work. I am unwilling to do it, but if someone wants to have a go, by all means.
