As you all know, Friday 13 December is a special day… signing the deed with the notary in Namur to buy the land in Jette
I can’t remember where I’ve read the details about what is happening that evening. What I think is the plan is that at 17h one group of people will be there at the notary’s office to sign the documents, and the rest of the members will arrive at 18h for an info session regarding what happens next. Could @reef-finance correct me if I’ve got that wrong.
So normally we have a Full Members dinner planned for that evening, which will now take place in Namur after the notary meeting. So my first question for the community is: does anyone know somewhere nice in Namur that we could book to have a celebration afterwards? It could be a proper sit-down restaurant, or a more informal pub that does food. As long as it is bookable for a big group…
Which brings me to my next question, to establish numbers: is there anyone who won’t be there. I’ve read somewhere that @MariaAM will be Edgar-sitting and joining by Skype. For the other parenting duos of @Hannah/@JeroenStruys and @ugne/@manuelpueyo - will one or both of you be attending? And for @joannes and Ann, we’re all very much hoping that you will be there as well. Your official status of Associate Member doesn’t really reflect what a central part of the group you are, and I know that I speak on behalf of all the Full Members when I say that it would mean a lot if you could join for this special moment
Full disclosure, I’m posting this in a bit of a rush as Stammtisch is calling my name in the distance… am I missing anything?
Yes, all correct.
People signing the deed at 17:00 are:

7. Jeroen
8. Ugne
Would be great to know who (& how) joins us at 18:00 for the meeting with the notary on next steps:
At the last dinner there seemed to be enthusiasm for putting on our land-ownership shoes. Would people be up for a sort of business attire / “wear your best clothes” dress code?
@joannes : super happy you’re joining dinner!!
Wouldn’t it make sense that you also joined the explanations by the notary at 6pm? To also get the full picture…
Or is it that you are not available?
I can get into it if that’s the vibe (although to be honest I’m not sure I have anything along these lines), but I also don’t feel the need to. Happy for people to dress up though!
Same as Sarah. And i would feel uncomfortable though if everyone dresses up and I am the only one not, but that doesn’t look like it is going to be the case
Here’s what I think is the final inventory of who will be in Namur this Friday evening:

We are in the process of booking a venue in central Namur for 15 people at 19h30. Ideally, it won’t be too far from the train station, as I imagine that’s how most people will be travelling.
With regard to dressing up, I was a big fan of the idea until I realised that the one suit that I own doesn’t fit me any more :-/ I don’t think I’m going to hire something, so the best I could do is an uncharacteristically ironed shirt. If you want to dress up in a way that reflects your recent acquisition of land, wonderful! If not, try and at least appear a little less scruffy (I’m looking at you Richard ).
Really looking forward to being together on Friday, for this wonderful milestone in our journey
I will be with the car, if you don’t find a place close to the train station, i can allways do some ‘aller-retour’ to drive people to the trainstation…
Ann & I will be driving to Namur by car. We still have 4 seats left. Leaving at 16h from my house. We can drop people off in Brussels close to their house.
