Unexpectedly, we have another summer to make use of the site before the building begins. This could involve BBQs, camping, picnics, children’s parties and anything else you can imagine 
My aim is to organise at least two big BBQs over the summer, in a similar way to the one we had last year. I have a bit more time on my hands than usual this spring, so my intention is to put a bit more time and effort into how we can store things on site, and perhaps even the creation of a temporary toilet structure (rather than paying the local bars each time we have an event).
There may be some budget needed to clear the site a bit (e.g. 50 euros to hire a strimmer/débroussailleuse) and install some very basic infrastructure (e.g. 100 euros for some rope and plastic tarpaulins). If this is the case, I will follow the usual procedures for unexpected expenses. Alternatively, we could include these things in the shared expenses for individual events, of which there are always some (e.g. for ice, car hire, etc.).
The first step will be to go to the site and see what’s needed in terms of clearing some space, as I expect it will be quite overgrown in a year. After that, I will wait for a fine weekend day to manifest on the horizon, to do the clearing and perhaps enjoy a picnic in the sun with whoever would like to join me for that…

Me too! After my vacation, I return 1st of May, I’ll have a lot of time on my hands.
Unfortunately, I cannot lend you my partytent anymore because I just sold it, but I still have two camping chairs and the market table that can easily be transported.

This sound very therapeutic and gratifying as you can see tangible and imediate results. Drop me a line whenever you are planning to come - as I live close by I should be able to swing by and give a hand (not a green thumb though)

Yes, it’s time for yet another poll
The first BBQ on the site for this season will take place on either the Saturday or Sunday afternoon on one of the last two weekends in June. So four dates to choose from on the poll, to get an idea of who is around and available. Having said that, a few other factors will come into play regarding the final choice, such as who has equipment, transport, etc., and which days look like being the sunniest and/or warmest as we approach the end of the month. So not necessarily the day with the most votes will be the winner…
Here’s the poll:
- Saturday 20 June – afternoon/evening
- Sunday 21 June – afternoon/evening
- Saturday 27 June – afternoon/evening
- Sunday 28 June – afternoon/evening
- Can’t make it any of those day :-/
