I am Foivos Irakleidis, a medical student from Rhodes, Greece. I am in the 6th year of my studies so in July I will graduate from the ´´University of Crete, faculty of medicine´´. Currently and for the last 8 months I am living and doing my clinical practice in Vienna as an Erasmus student.

I have many fields in which I am very interested, such as, traveling, sports, art and of course the general subject of the medical science.

I am an active member in some cultural, political, health  and community organisations. The most important of them are ´´the Doctors of Aegean, of the University hospital of Heraklion, Crete-GIATROI TOU AGAIOU PAGNI´´ and the ´´Cultural organisation of the Dodecanese students of Heraklion, Crete-SYLLOGOS DODEKANISION FOITITON IRAKLEIOU KRITIS´´ of which I was a co-founder and first president. Both groups have an important role in the Cretan, Rhodian and a possitive impact in the Greek community.

My special interest in politics and community activities is the immigrant situation. I have some experienses living in multicultural societies (London,Vienna) and I really believe that it is a unique experiense. Greece really has a lot of issues right now and one of them is the immigrant issue. The multicultural society of Athens has a lot of problems and there are answers about that. The only truth is that the tortured immigrants are not the only ones who have responsibilities in that situation. I have never had the opportunity to be part of a central organization for this kind of issues, so I think that signing up in Edgeryders will help me exchange ideas with people from different countries and sometimes with different opinions This journey makes it really interesting and promising.
