I am an architect, specialized in Environmental planning and design. My master's thesis was discussing the problem of Climate Change and how to design buildings to adapt with climate change through a specific methodology, as I realized that the building sector can reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 30%, So I wanted to raise the architects' awareness and teach them the design methodology of the buildings' adaptation not only through my thesis, but also, I held many public lectures to spread the word
For Social work, I'm a member of design and technical support department and was the head of climate change research team at Ain El-Bee'ah Cooperative for Social Services which has been recognized locally as the lead community cooperative for combating climate change and environment preservation, and I worked with them in many projects related to environmental awareness , spreading the idea of roofs gardening & renewable energy , raising environmental awareness for kids in particular& promoting the public consciousness of the sustainable development in general, developing new techniques to utilize its waste and organizing lectures about climate change phenomenon and all its negative impacts. Moreover, I Worked with American University in Cairo, Research institute of sustainable development department -RISE as a volunteer in Green school project which aimed to raise the kids' awareness "Citizens& refugees" of the Climate change impacts and how to mitigate and cope with these impacts.
Now I'm preparing for a project called "a Sustainable village" which aims to Develop the waste management system in Egyptian villages by adopting new methodologies focusing on new innovative and creative solutions and techniques; for example, encouraging citizens to apply Source Segregation of Waste (SSW) technique, Waste Recycling, and producing environment-friendly products from waste and generating alternative energy sources to achieve sustainability of the system.
