I am an independent artist, filmmaker, freelance video trainer, yoga teacher from Armenia. I do arts and crafts to add some harmony and colors to my daily reality, and also to find and spread impulses of healthy, green consciousness around. I believe that art is a strong tool for change and I believe museums are not the best shelters for it. I wish there would be more art on the streets than in the museums, more music in the hearts than in electronic devices. I would plant trees on the places of museums and would hang art right on them, if there would not appear any better way to treat art. With the Smart Crafts initiative I am trying to realize some dreams. I know that dreams are infective. I hope my efforts will contribute in the global movement of self-employment, joy and freedom, as well as will help me to earn for my travels and activities.

I use minimum or no-cost materials most often, starting from political advertisement banners hanging on the streets (when a new election campaign is launched) ending with pieces of broken or old bicycles. I and I sell / exchange / give away jewelry which often has activist messages, in order to transmit them to the different layers of society here and there. I make and sell local, but I travel a lot, so I go global too:)

More crafts more fair trade, more freedom of choice, less environmental damage, more happy beings, more peace:) more fun!

When I draw I mark my path in the space of time and matter, on paper…
When I see dreams i jump back and forward in time and matter…
When i hold the clay on potter’s wheel I feel the spin of the earth…
When I do yoga I feel the spin of the universe…
When I talk I see how the words jump into eternity and become ornaments…
When I travel I follow the path I was drawing earlier on paper…
When I draw on human body the mind maps become multidimensional…
When I read, the pages of the book stay, the reality turns…
When I tell about the eco-paradise of the future, I create memories of future, and then, while remembering them, I feel how it starts becoming real…
