lois

This is a short introduction but an important clarification: My name is Maria Piera, but ever since I was young everybody calls me Lois. I love all that is related to my land: I do my best to contribute to making it better every day and grow up with it, in it. Because of this, and other personal reasons, after some time spent abroad and different professional experiences in Italy I decided to come back in Basilicata and have a family here: today I have two children. I am dynamic and versatile and am always on the lookout for new collaborations and experiments. I create and scout artistic and cultural projects ("WriteCube Day" social and urban event) and have collaborated on projects such as "Schegge di Carta", the exhibition in the framework of the 4th National Urban Conference held in Matera. I have always payed attention to cultural and creative sector: this is why, in September 2010, I attended the International Workshop in Bologna cultural planning (Lord Cultural Resources)In 2011, I worked for Professor Franco Bianchini (Professor of Cultural Policy and Planning, Faculty of Arts, Environment and Technology, Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds, UK) and with the Matera 2019 Scientific Committee for the candidacy of Matera to European Capital of Culture title in 2019. In March 2012 I started off a new work experience as Event Manager for a service company. In June 2012 I inaugurated "I Briganti caffè" bar in Matera's historic center which I unfortunately had to close because of the sudden and unexpected death of my dad. After one year I'm back on track and have found again the desire to stimulate interaction, collaboration and confrontation: I committed thanks to other valuable collaborators in a new project “The quality of products Lucan look at Europe”. The project was selected as one of the residencies within the UnMonastery and is today semi-finalist of the European Social Innovation competition. A new challenge that will surely bring success. Fingers crossed.
