Ampliative Art: First ideas to get build phase 1

As I proposed in “Initial strategy proposal”, it would be nice to start thinking on how we can build the first phase.

These are all the key features I proposed in www.ampliativeart.org/en/development for create an eco-system for empower art actors around the world:

  1. All actors/users can create their profiles for free

  2. Create their own galleries and make their works available

  3. Follow and be followed by others

  4. Receive notifications

  5. Give money donations

  6. Comment and review the contributions of the community

  7. Disseminate the contributions of others

  8. Propose exchanges for the works exposed

  9. Send direct messages

  10. Evaluate the contributions made by others

  11. Take part in the decision making of the platform and Ampliative Art

  12. Propose new ideas and discuss existing ones

  13. Audit the accounts and movements of the organization

  14. Increase their community reputation according their contributions

  15. Contribute in the construction of the platform and Ampliative Art

  16. Check their community reputation and their history

  17. Receive distributed income according their community reputation

For the first phase, I proposed to build all those features which allow actors/users to interact amongst them as an alternative art procedure (features from 1 to 10), and integrate a democratic decision-making tool as DemocracyOS or Loomio (11, 12).

Due I know starting the development of a web platform is not an easy job being a non-profit project and committed with open art without investors nor web developers involved, I’ve thought it would be helpful for the project to develop a manual process as starting point. I mean, follow a kind of Lean methodology with manual process, plus the collaboration of a team of people involved.

For that, I’ve thought we could start developing a Wordpress template that allows actors to interact with the most of the features referred. In this way, I could make the initial development of this site using Wordpress, and we will just need some help in some issues on the site development and in the creation of the community (I mean, communication, copy of the landing page, social media, artist curation…)

The best template I’ve found for this challenge is http://xhunt.io/. This is a template for make projects a la Product Hunt which would allow these interesting features:

  • Users could upload art works (one image), add description, tags and a link to the site’s work

  • Upvote these art works for increase their visibility

  • Comment, review and share these works

  • Create Collections of these works (so users could curate works by the themes they want)

  • Follow/following

  • Send private messages

  • Be notified and check their activity

In this case, we wouldn’t host all the art works, the users just would use the links for redirect to the artist’s sites. This idea would let us follow the features commented for the phase 1, with the exception of money donations, for which we would require a web developer who could help us on this issue and others related. But I will talk in more detail about all of this in next posts so I don’t want to bother you.

On the implementation of the next phases (community reputation + income distribution + collaborating site) we will require specialist who will be able to implement all of this being that we are using a Wordpress template.

So summarizing, initially it would be some kind of Product Hunt for engaged art with some features for allow reward the works linked and increase their visibility, while we facilitate a way where artists, art mediators and art enthusiasts can generate a community for empower social, engaged art.

I just would like to know your opinion on this idea.
