A new year starts, and we need to pay the annual dues to our favourite ASBL. In previous years, the practice has been this:
- Someone (and the board is the obvious candidate) prepares a short proposal about how much the annual membership dues should be.
- This proposal is then taken to the plenary and consented to.
You are the obvious choice for people to prepare this proposal. If you do not have the time of the energy, push back and I will do it myself or look for someone else. You can also accept then delegate.
Some information about this decision:
- Nothing sacred about the figure of 125 EUR.
- Plenty of money in the ASBL, we could even skip a year in annual dues (here is the 2025 profit & loss), but…
- … we have considered that new associate members needed to be paying something upon joining to avoid “cohousing tourists”…
- … and Daniel and Mathilde have already paid 125 EUR, so if we change the sum due we need to go back to them as well.
