1. Introduction

We have two standard cases of access restricted categories, and should try to stick to these. Technically however we can make other variants by creating custom groups.

Creating an access-restricted category is no different than creating a normal category, just that you adapt settings in tab “Security” and use a template for the “About the … category” topic.

2. Creating a company-only category

Security tab settings

  • admins can… Create / Reply / See
  • company can… Create / Reply / See

Category description template

Make sure that the text up to and including “+ADMINS: @daniel” is visible in the excerpt that appears as tooltip when mousing over the category name on the frontpage. Otherwise, shorten your introductory paragraphs to make it fit.

3. Creating a collaborators-only category

Security tab settings

  • admins can… Create / Reply / See
  • moderators can… Create / Reply / See
  • collaborators can… Create / Reply / See

Category description template

Make sure that the text up to and including “+ADMINS / MODERATORS: (all included via the group)” is visible in the excerpt that appears as tooltip when mousing over the category name on the frontpage. Otherwise, shorten your introductory paragraphs to make it fit.
