Developing the On3nCare conversation dashboard: notes from the call between Guy and Alberto

@melancon and I have just a had a call on this topic. Decisions:

  • We build a Drupal view (essentially a saved SQL query) to extract Op3nCare's content from edgeryders.eu. This selects all Challenge responses related to the current and future Op3nCare challenges. Guy was given admin powers over the Drupal website to do this.
  • Some care-related content was created before we had the Challenges functionality in place. Provisionally, we decide to deal with this content by converting the relevant nodes into Challenge responses. Alberto to verify this is feasible (lots of manual conversion...).
  • Our first analytical effort is to build a visualization of the (non-semantic) interaction network in OpenCare, in the style of Edgesense. This can be used as a visual aid to "show people the conversation", making them feel the presence of a lively online community. We aim to have a static image by the CAPS community event in Berlin on May 18th. We will then move on to an Edgesense installation.
  • We schedule a full day extra work in Stockholm, after the consortium meeting. Consortium partners welcome. We use it to design the future semantic network dashboard. We need: community managers, and at least one ethnographer. Guy and Alberto to reach out to academics in Sweden: maybe some social scientist or ethnographer is interested in spending a day designing this software. If Erik or Marco know anyone, we would appreciate being put in touch.
  • Edgeryders to call in an etnographer and code the first batch of the Op3nCare conversation. This will generate a sample dataset that Guy's software can run on.
