As discussed at our last meeting, I would like to run an experiment offering facilitation training. This would be part of my journey to become a sociocracy trainer, and so it would not be a Reef activity in the strict sense of the word (even though I am listing it here and on Nextcloud for ease). I have reached out to Vosberg and Volta XL and invited them to join.
This is the description that I sent around:
I picture 5 online sessions and 1 session in-person. The online sessions will be mostly based on sociocracy, whereas the in-person sessions will be inspired by NVC. Topics we’ll practice include how to address objections, how to stay on topic, how to make sure people feel heard, how to help people self-regulate when tensions rise etc. Each session will start with a bit of theory and then we will split into break-out rooms to role-play some scenarios. The sessions will build on each other, but it will be easily possible to miss one or two sessions. No prior knowledge is needed and experienced facilitators would very welcome so that we can make it a peer learning experience. The idea is to keep it light and playful.
Ideally, to have a bit of continuity, everybody can attend at least four out of the six sessions, but if that’s not possible I think it should still be possible to participate (if only as a player).
