Team Facilitation is organizing a few more training sessions this year!
They will be hosted by our newest team member @Lee , so you know it’s gonna be good
We will have a half day in person training teaching facilitation skills based on NVC (i.e. the listening part, including making people feel heard and resetting people’s nervous system to “rest and digest” when things get tense.)
After that we will organize a practical 2 hour online session to practice these skills.
There will also be a 2 hour online facilitation training about the ‘drama triangle’. Just in case of the unlikely event there would ever be any drama
The training is primarily aimed at the members of @reef-facilitation to expand our knowledge and skills. But of course it will be a lot more fun if more people join!
So as is tradition, here is a poll to decide when to hold the in person NVC facilitation training.
I will put up polls for the other two sessions in function of the results for this one.

Since the external NVC training is postponed for now, we are using some of those dates as an option.
Would it be possible to schedule these type of trainings much more in advance? The options are all in 1 to 3 weeks, it’s nearly impossible to free 1/4 of my weekend on such short notice.

No one else is available on 7/12 in the evening.
Unfortunately there isn’t any 2 time slots where everyone is available either. Knowing that Mieke isn’t currently planning on facilitating herself I would suggest Saturday 29/11 in the evening for Maria and Saturday 6/12 in the evening for Joannes and Hannah then?

I can also sign up for the session on 6-12. May need to take Edgar for like half an hour before Richard picks him up, but it is possible. I´ve just changed my vote.

The scheduling has been done to accommodate for as many people from Team Facilitation as possible, but the session is of course accessible to everybody in The Reef.
The course content sounds a bit as if the magical formula to turn stones into gold pebbles will be unveiled, while in practice it will be not much more than three simple exercises on NVC listening skills . These skills are of course very useful in any Reef meeting, for facilitators but equally for everybody else, but I reckon they might also serve in other situations in daily life. So please don’t be discouraged by the topic of this thread!
I will probably organise a second, identical session, some time from now, so that @MariaAM and @Hannah can also follow it, but I need to give a bit more thought to the scheduling. So if you are also interested in this session, but you can’t make it this Saturday, please also fill in the poll so that I know who is interested.
Back to this Saturday, I propose to organise the session at my place, and I’m opening up for a potluck lunch, from 12:00 until 13:25, open to everybody, also if you are not taking part in the NVC session.
I’d like to join the NVC meeting, but i can’t commit just yet… with the strikes these few days, i need to catch up on some errands this weekend, hopefully they can be done this Firday. Please quasi-count me in if that is OK.
