Collaborative economics and new technologies are today contributing to radical innovation in care solutions for citizens, personalizing them by re-establishing the centrality of those needs not met by traditional welfare systems, but under what conditions? What are the economic impacts of innovation on the care world? Is the active use of models based on co-design and customization sustainable? opencare conference/InPe e openrampette

These are two projects of WeMake out of the many others developed during the opencare experience. The aim of the presentation by Costantino Bongiorno, co-founder of WeMake, is to describe the two projects and explain the development of the deliverables. Patients and citizens have been involved in co-design sessions in order to contribute to the development and stabilization of the technologies and new open solutions. It was therefore possible to include in the design the contextualization of the artifacts and the solutions. Users’ visions and makers’ skills have merged in these two projects that could shape further opencare projects as well.

opencare conference/From care services to care as an open system: Opencare’s perspective

It’s time to move to a social innovative perspective about care.
Technologies, people and networks can shape contexts like never before. Although medicine and healthcare have the peculiar role of supporting lives and biological survival, only a shared commitment by society itself can increase and facilitate the quality of life of people.
A innovative and social approach is needed for the challenge of open systems for care. Makers of WeMake have worked hard on understanding how care issues could be faced by open source and open access solutions, given the need to integrate those in healthcare context of the area of Milan.
