Flyering raid on the Tivoli neighbourhood

Hello @reeflings,

I am a bit worried about the fact that we don’t see any additional registrations coming in after the flyer campaign on the bioshops.

Therefore, before we need to start considering more drastic options, I would like to run a mini-experiment by doing a flyering raid on the Tivoli neighbourhood in in Laken (located between rue Tivoli and rue Molenbeek).

Background: Tivoli GreenCity is a Citydev project of about 400 households. It’s not a cohousing, but they do have some shared common spaces. A lot of emphasis on sustainability also.

More info:

My reasoning for focusing on this one is this that this might be a neighbourhood with a potentially higher density of people who resonate with our project:

  • Option 1: they live there and have friends who would like to live in a similar sustainable housing community.

  • Option 2: they live there and got a little disappointed with the lack of support to facilitate the living together and might be looking for something more intimate and self-managed.

The way I picture it would be as follows:

  • We go into the Tivoli neighbourhood, and leave some flyers on top of the mailboxes (as it is often done in my building).

  • We go to a couple of social gathering places, like some of the bars that look popular, two yoga places, the swimming pool and anything else that we may find.

Would there possibly be a couple of people who’d be interested to meet up on Friday evening (07/11) or Saturday late morning (08/11) to see whether this could make a little difference?

@Lee @reef-external While your idea is valuable down the road, I would rather wait another few weeks until we had at least two passes at each bioshop. Some routes have not been served at all or very recently, no wonder we do not see a pick-up in attendance.

Not sure whether this post belongs in the “Flyers dropping” topic.

Hi Joannes,

I am personally feeling very stressed about the way the registrations to the presentations have come to an almost complete standstill, and I I have little trust that there is going to be enough progress from doing a first or second round in some zones. I don’t see any added value from waiting with this little experiment, and I dont’ see any risk from running it in parallel, so I would reallly appreciate it if I could get the freedom to find out whether this would make any difference. Would that work for you?

@Lee We discussed your request during our Monday meeting and we’d like to proceed with this in an orderly way, aligned with the way the set up the other rounds:

  1. You provide us with the list of locations you’d like to visit
  2. We’ll add them to our master list
  3. We generate a new overview map + list of routes
  4. We ask for people to sign up for running the routes.

If you provide the addresses by Friday evening, we can do steps 2>4 on Saturday.
Sounds right?
