A topic to collect our “edgy” geoengineering ideas and approaches that can help to solve the climate crisis. We will slowly add our collective wisdom here over the coming years – to be ready when it’s needed. Let’s hope it will never be needed, but who knows … .

1. Enhanced phytoplankton deposition
There is an issue with iron fertilization that limits its geoengineering potential, namely that most of the phytoplankton does not make it to deep water or to the ocean floor. Mechanical autonomous devices that compress the phytoplankton into fast-sinking pellets could solve this.
