Hello @reef-asbl-board and @coral-board! I have lost track of the matter of civil liability insurance for the ASBL. In our accounting I see a payment in 2023 and one in 2024, but nothing for last year. Does anybody know if we are paying, and if so who is advancing the money? Or if we need to revamp our policies?
I believe a couple of things fell through the cracks between the asbl and the Board and we are not clear on who is responsible for what. Maybe put it on the backlog of our meeting document?
It seems they contacted @Sarah ‘s private mail in the past, not sure if an invoice was sent last year, at least there is no trace in protonmail. I’ll send a mail from proton to the contact at Ethias .
No, I checked my inbox and weirdly I didn’t receive anything last year.
Hello @alberto , here Richard. We received a reply from Ethias (see proton) mentioning that our insurance had been cancelled back in 2023 due to non-payment on our part. Yet you mentioned that we did pay that year as well as 2024? Even more confusing is this bill dating 2025 (for 2026) which, according to Freeagent, had been paid: Log in to your FreeAgent account
Here an entry that mentions that we paid for 2025, although there is no scan attached. Log in to your FreeAgent account
I think it will come down to you logging onto the ASBL’s bank account and copying proof of payment for the past transactions which we can then send to the Ethias account manager. Note that he will be on holiday as from next week onwards. Pls let me know what’s feasible and consider moving this thread in the confidential area. Thx!
Edit: I now realise that our contact at Ethias refers to an RC Administrateur which I believe we decided to discontinue in 2023. According to his book we still owe some minor amount though. The RC Générale should be in order though according to above links from Freeagent.

The latest payments are in December 2025, so we should be OK with that. My question is more because of budgeting purposes. If Coral Reef pays insurance out of its own bank account, then there is no allocation of insurance money to Team SoSim. But what about the insurance for the ASBL? Does it go to a team, and which team?
The ASBL insurance used to be in Team Finance’s budget and then moved to Team SoSim. Not sure this answers your question though. Let’s pick this up again on an upcoming board meeting, as suggested by Lee. We should also discuss the claim coming from Ethias.
