Do opportunities exist if you are not aware?
I think this is an interesting question. A while back [Cataspanglish] started documenting how people doing work that is quite far outside the mainstream are making a living. I’ve done some funny things in my life including working as a cook in Christiania, and they were still an eye opener 
By far though Elf’s choice to live moneyless and completely sidestepp the whole employment thing as part of a transaction based economy has had the most profound effect on my thinking about this. We travelled moneyless to Berlin together last year and I wrote about it here. Did you know the unMonastery is heavily inspired by Elf’s lifestyle, and we’re doing it in collaboration with a city administration!!!?!
I get the sense that there is a drive towards pushing people to take opportunities, without much effort into understanding how opportunities are made or discovered…and how we could be better att supporting one another w.r.t. these questions/challenges…
