sent you a test email @els @Lee and to the cohousing email. @Sarah feel free to add your testimonial here for next time. Login – Nextcloud
Hi @manuelpueyo,
I am grateful that you offered to write a story. Thanks for that! At the same time I am a bit frustrated about the way we are working together, because I really want to care for how I spend my time. In the outreach proposal it was clearly stated that I would be drafting the newsletters. Not too convinced by the story about the parking spot, I had therefore already spent time drafting another story (time that I could also have used differently). I had also asked @Sarah to finish her testimonial by Tuesday, and so I find it really important to honour the time that she spent on that.
If you would like to take over this task, I would be really open to that of course. In that case though my request would be that we communicate about that first, so that everybody can use their time efficiently. Does that sound reasonable?
To proceed I have made the following changes to the text that you prepared:
-
Added a line on the fact that we may have a studio (see also https://edgeryders.eu/t/a-short-update-about-daves-situation/22868/10)
-
Units still available:
- Corrected a sentence that didn’t make sense
- Corrected the text on the units still available - now only advertising the 3 BRs
-
Added the event on 20/09 to the “meet us” section
-
Added @Sarah’s testimonial
-
Added a short “did you know” section, with some data on people’s ages, hoping that this might be attractive to families with children
@Lucia, would you be willing to take over the proofreading from Els and also check with @reef-recruitment that there no objections to my proposal to say something about the studio?
Done. A nice one , bravo to you both ![]()
Ps: and of course I now have the song stuck in my head. ![]()
hello @lee i am totally fine to taking your story. i just saw that you were out of stories so i saw this as a call for help
Your help is appreciated of course, and I am totally happy to go with your story. It’s just that I would have liked to know beforehand, so that I could have spend my time differently. I thought my post was clear in that I was going to draft the newsletter, and that I was open to somebody writing a story, not the entire newsletter. I reckon it would also have saved you time, given that several things that you prepared needed a change.
Anyway. No harm was done. I just wanted to make sure that we are clear on who is doing what, so that we can avoid this kind of situations in the future.
my pleasure! happy to help. i really dont see how me making a draft of a newsletter can affect your time. the time you craft writing is not lost. we can use your text anyway
The time is not lost, that is correct. And I was so freaking busy that prioritising drafting that story so that the newsletter could go out today or tomorrow came at the cost of stress and a whole lot of other things I could have been doing instead. Would you be willing to acknowledge that this has been difficult to me?
thank you ! I really appreciate the time and care you put in drafting this
. i can totally understand that this generated stress on you. and keep your ideas and draft for the next newsletter. i am sure they are great.
ok. i see the changes you made in the draft. listed above. thank you looks much better. i will incorporate them and try to send it tomorrow
Hello all,
A new draft of the newsletter is ready and is saved in the usual place.
@els can you please give it check?
@manuelpueyo can you please add some emojis, take care of the formatting and send it out?
A few notes on the considerations I made:
-
Choice of the main story: I figure decision inertia might be something that is alive in many people, and maybe particular in families with children due to extra busy lives. It’s true that in reality there were a few more preparatory meetings to decision on the common living room, but all in all I think the story is fully in line with our current reality.
-
The update about the project: An idea from Maria, who said that many people are asking about it. I didn’t go into the details of the permit, because I worry it might jinx things.
-
Advertising the unit in l’Echappée: my reasoning is that this won’t cost us many extra members, as they can only sell it to one household. What it brings to our newsletter is that people might not unsubscribe, because they realise we are bringing interesting news. It’s also possible that somebody goes to visit, then falls in love with the idea of cohousing and gets more motivated to join The Reef.
Thanks Lee,
I personally would put the ‘update about the project’ before the ‘decision inertia’ or would mention something in the introduction that you will say sth about the status of the project.
You don’t mention anything about our last 1 BR being sold, and/or welcoming eduard/lingga?
I put the project update lower down because I want minimal distance to the section on the presentation, and the fixed structure is to have the story after the introduction. Something on E&L might come in the next newsletter.
ok

Hi @els,
The draft of the next newsletter is ready (it’s the v2 in the folder).
I don’t think there are any major mistakes, but grateful if you could have a look. TIA!
@Lee
reviewed, did some minor corrections (words that failed to be in bold, and your name).
I see you didn’t add the presentation of the 10th of november in it? Is that a conscious choice?
hi @Eduard @Linggam , you probably missed this message.
I don’t know if it’s possible from where you are now, but it would be very much appreciated if you could write a testimony on what motivated you to become part of the Reef? You can read some examples in the above link.
I thought it was too long ahead but feel free to add it.
