Hello @reeflings , this is to let you know that online editing of Word and Excel file is once again possible in NextCloud. You will see that the interface looks different; this is because the server-side application handling editing has changed from Collabora Online to OnlyOffice.
This is good enough as a temporary solution, but going forward I would like to reinstate Collabora. Since it is the official Nextcloud version of Libre Office, I believe it is more likely to survive long term. I will keep pestering Tab.Digital to get Collabora working.
Once again, if you have control over your machine (= not a work laptop), I recommend not using online editing, but rather keeping a local copy of The Reef shared folder via the NextCloud client (install from here), editing the files with 365 of Libre Office directly on your hard drive, and letting the client take case of syncing. Let me know if you need help with that.
