Thanks Antonio!

Had no idea the unMonastery is in fact this big. Ok, so from our last chat: we shouldn’t expect it to be ready and fully equipped by end of October, however the rooms are ours to use and bring over what is needed, if someone wants to take on board finding chairs, tables and other equipment. You mentioned there is a heating system already in place.

But we can’t count on the wifi by then…

What does anybody else think?

Works for unMonastery space

In unMonastery space there are three important steps to do for Lote3:

1) Removing rubble;

2) Electrical system + wifi connection

3) Make useable the bathrooms

The remaining works will do after.

We can ask the chairs at the public administration (municipality, province, region…)

Ty so much [antonioelettrico], now the available space is clearer

Later on, I’ll create a wiki with a list of equipment needed for LOTE so anyone can add. About alternative venue, I’m contacting others Institutions in town. Chairs can be rented (I’ll ask quotations to Companies that offer integrated services for different events); in addition, with [immaginoteca] and whoever can be interested we’ll try to find smart solutions for seating!

Let’s go on!

alternative wifi?

apologies if off-topic

maybe the city council of Matera might consider opening a local node for the Guifi open access internet network?

I believe it would be the first in Italy.

geeks will find details here :

Brilliant!

Wow, I had no idea… we could actually have the whole conference in the unMonastery! We absolutely need to put pressure on the city to get the work done. [Rita O], do you have access to Roberto? I sent him a Twitter message yesterday, but no response so far.

still no answer

[alberto] Roberto doesn’t answer, I left him a message hoping that he’ll call me later. Anyway, the point is that we can’t have assurance that works will be completed in time, or better, it could happen that they’ll adjust some rooms or only the first floor. I’ll be working on other alternatives

Agreed

Yes, we need a plan B. But I have not given up on plan A yet!

I believe [Rita O] & the accomodation team are in contact with it.
