As the automotive sector embraces a transformative shift towards sustainability and circularity, we’re seeking writers from diverse backgrounds to capture this paradigm shift in captivating storytelling. Your narratives will play a pivotal role in illuminating the practical applications of circular economy principles, shaping our understanding of its impact on society, economy, and everyday life.
What Kind of Stories Are We Looking For?
We’re eager to hear about real-world examples, personal experiences and futuristic ideas that showcase how the circular economy is being implemented in the automotive industry. Stories could be anchored in reality or science fiction. They can address various topics, such as:
- Circular Transformation: Reshaping the Automotive Industry’s Footprint:
How can circular economy principles transform the automotive industry into a more sustainable and resource-efficient sector? - Consumer Empowerment: Driving Circularity in the Automotive Sphere:
How might we raise consumer awareness about the benefits of circular economy products and practices in the automotive sector? - Circular Manufacturing: Reimagining Automotive Production for Sustainability:
How can automotive manufacturers adopt circular economy principles in their production processes? - Circular Afterlife: Prolonging the Automotive Journey: How might we extend the lifespan of vehicles and components?
Story Guidelines:
Your stories should be no more than 3,000 words in length. They should be original and captivating, showcasing the practical applications of circular economy in the automotive sector. Your submissions should adhere to our platform’s terms of agreement and be written in English.
Why Participate?
- Your contributions will directly benefit our research on the circular economy in the automotive sector.
- Your stories will be beautifully illustrated and published on our platform under Creative Commons 4.0 International Attribution (CC-BY) license, reaching a global audience
- Your stories will be compensated, with a total prize pool of €3,000 for the best submissions.

Please email us at bojan@edgeryders.eu, with the subject line TREASURE OPEN CALL FOR STORIES. Let us know about any previous work you’ve had published and include a 500-word sample of your previous work or a story proposal you would like to write.
Selection Criteria & Submission Deadline
Prize-winning authors will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Quality of the Story: The stories will be evaluated based on their originality, creativity, and clarity in conveying the practical applications of circular economy in the automotive sector.
- Engagement and Impact: Stories that effectively engage the audience and demonstrate the tangible impact of circular economy initiatives will be given preference.
The submission deadline is the 11th of February, 2024.
Awarded stories will be announced on the 15th of February, 2024.
How are We Funding This?
This call for stories is part of the TREASURE project: leading the TRansition of the European Automotive SUpply chain towards a circulaR futurE, funded through Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme of the European Union under the Grant Agreement No. 101003587. Your contributions will inform our research results, which will eventually be published online and made freely available for everyone to read.
