Yesterday we had a meeting with @reef-recruitment and one of the things discussed was how/when to continue with the presentations… This is what our plan is, feedback is welcome.. (@R&O: correct me where i misunderstood)
Presentations
during the summer holidays we wouldn’t organise any presentations. @LuciaM will make a form so that interested people could register into. If that happens somebody of R&O would meet them for a one on one and go through the basics, and answer any questions. This form would stay open, even after the summer holidays, for people who have difficulties getting to a presentation.
first presentation end of August, around 20th, when most people are back but a couple of days before school starts (fr school year starts 24/08, flemish school year starts September 1st, ISB 28/08, beps 24/08)
second presentation around 10th of September
third one end of September
fourth one mid October
Location
in the line of what was mentioned in the proposal we consented to last year , we wouldn’t organise any more presentations in Miro which has a big space, which will look ‘empty/uncosy’ if we will only have max 10 interessees showing up.
we would organize one presentation in the Spiegel (the one end of September probably), as it’s a smaller space, closer to our site (huger interest from people from Jette and neighbourhood, certainly families)
we would mix that with online presentations and presentations happening at @Lee’s: big enough to accomodate for 10 people, small enough to not look empty when we only would have a couple of people showing up.
Publishing the presentations
we propose not to publish more than 2 presentations at a time. As we noticed that people registering too far in advance of a presenation have a lower precentage of finally showing up
for the same reason as above, we would only publish the first two dates from end of July/beginning of August onwards
Other
we (Lucia) noticed that when we cancelled a presentation, people don’t tend to register for another one, so we would like to keep the presentations we organise, no matter what
I’m personally more and more convinced about the efficiency of the online presentation, but De Spiegel would be nice. But up to you to make the decision!
@reef-external@Sterre
Can we ask you to add to the website the registration link for the one-on-one sessions ? : Book a Personal 1-on-1 Chat with The Reef Cohousing! 🌊 ? maybe accompany it by a small text, something like : “family schedules can be unpredictable, and we want to give you the opportunity to meet one of us if joining a presentation is not an feasible for you” ?
Thank you, Lucia
Can you also correct this information on the table with the prices : the I1 is the most expensive unit and the I2 the least expensive one - it is the other way around on the site right now (we got feedback from EM as they were confused).
Hi @els , we’ll take care of that! Could you update the info in the Presentations overview Excelfile and provide us with the subscription links? Thank you
That means we can’t yet announce them on the website, Samenhuizen and Habitat & Participation. It just doesn’t seem in line with @Lee ‘s expectation to announce them as soon as the dates are known.
I would prefer that you create the forms alreaday (no need to rush though) and that you let us know when at the earliest and when at the latest they need to be announced.
Rushing is only for emergencies, not for actions that can be planned ahead.
We discussed this in our last meeting with R&O, and the reason why we don’t want to publish yet, was mentionned in the first chat. The only reason for sharing ithe dates now is so you could work on the timeline you mentionned in the proposal (if you wish, no obligation)
We asked for feedback on this first post. Lee replied to it, so I don’t see an issue with publishing end of July/ beginning of August.
We will tag reef-external as soon as the forms are made and the excel is updated. ( We’ll make sure you still have plenty of time ito do it)
I prefer to stay out of it, but on second thought I’m not sure I understand the reasoning for not publishing the dates already? It’s a fact that there are more people who register early for a presentation who don’t show up, but what is there to lose?
Now the best thing we have to offer for people who land on the website is subscribing to the newsletter. People who don’t want to do that, we lose. Idem for people who do register, but then don’t read it, or have busy agendas and have the slots filled up with something else.
This is not correct, there is now a form open and published on our website, where everyone can register to, and will lead to a one on one (see first post and reactions).

In the same file, but on a different sheet, I’ve posted a suggested timeline of main communication around presentations ?
Can you have a look and see if it makes sense for you? My main argument that at each new newsletter we would add a new presentation date, so we will send out about two newsletter every 3 weeks and so announce every presentation around two times. If you prefer other dates (±2-3 days) that’s fine as long as we have this frequency of publicity.
If you can find the time, we can already proceed with publicity around the first two presentations even before the end of the week.
Kind regards, Lucia
I’m having second thoughts about organising the in-person presentation at my place. Uccle is far from Jette, and with the interruptions of the tram it can get really annoying to get there. Can it be an option to reconsider organising it at Joannes’ place?
