Our first public presentation in July will take place on the 3rd, which is a Thursday evening. The venue will be Salle Miro at Brutopia (Forest), which has been booked.
As there is a lot more clarity around the tasks that need doing to set it up and get it out there, simply tagging: @reef-recruitment @reef-external @Lee
@alberto - there won’t be an invoice for this one, as we are using the 50 from a previously cancelled presentation at Miro that shifted online.
This is a slightly different presentation, as it will be organised in conjunction with Samenhuizen. The main differences are that it starts at 17h30, and that they will provide food and drinks (I think). Which is just as well, because Dave will have left for London and I will be on a break to move house.
Finally, as is always the case these days, we really need everyone to step up and spread the word, so that we get a decent attendance at each presentation. We can’t over-emphasise how important for the project it is to prioritise recruitment at this stage, so thank you everyone for whatever you can do to help the process…
Is it reasonable to assume that because it is in conjunction with Samenhuizen the target audience will be mostly Dutch speakers? Just to know to have in mind translations when promoting.
Normally I would say yes, but they are happy for us to also promote it and get a good number of attendees, so it is more likely to be the usual mix…
All the upcoming presentations now have Edgeryders threads and registration links, which can be found in the new(ish) overview document: Login – Nextcloud
As many new people have come in since this post was created, I want to quickly tag @reef-associate, @reef-exploring (ping @reef-buddies) that these presentations are usually a lot of fun.
You are welcome to join us to keep the bar and have a chat with interested candidates, or just have a look at the maquette and enjoy yourself. The more the merrier!
This presentation exceptionally starts at 17:30, which means that we’ll gather at the venue (with those who can) at 16:30, and that the Q&A is expected to end at 18:45. So even if you come a bit later you will be very welcome to join.
Also please don’t hesitate to spread share the news on social media. It really helps us a lot to reach more people, so your contribution is really appreciated.
Assuming that @ChrisM is still battling boxes, and will have a lot messages to catch up on, I am taking the liberty of stepping in to launch a poll to see who will be there and when.
For clarity: at 16:30 we can manage with 2 people if need be. At 17:00 it’s always nice to be a bit more numerous to have a chat with the people who arrive early (3-4 is comfortable), and after the presentation it’s really the more the merrier.
Thanks Lee… very much the case and therefore very much appreciated!!
I will collect the key that morning, as Miro closes at lunchtime on Thursdays. And I will be back there at 16h to open up.
@alberto - can I come to yours at about that time to take the beamer and screen? And actually, an HDMI cable and extension cord as well, because I have no idea where mine are at the moment…
@Lee - would you ask the architects if we can come and get the maquette beforehand (if you haven’t already)?
@reef-recruitment - would you like me to print the registration list, as I will be there early?
@joannes - not sure where the plans ended up at the end of the last one…
@reef-recruitment - what do we know about the bar situation? As far as I understood, Samenhuizen were going to put drinks and snacks on, but that was when it was an intimate group of 10ish. As we’ve filled it up a bit, we should probably do the same, but it would be weird to be selling things if Samenhuizen are not. I suggest we use some of the excess in the bar kitty to top up whatever Samenhuizen are offering…
Learning from last time, I was wondering whether this time we can attribute the responsibility of making instagrammable pictures for @MariaAM, so that we are sure that someone is on it?
