Why and what
Coral Reef has a legal obligation to keep a registre des parts. It keeps track of the capital infused by each partner in the SoSim. Besides being a legal obligation, it could be useful in case someone withdraws from the project, because each household’s infusion of capital is the book value of its share in The Reef, that they need to sell to an incoming household when they withdraw.
I propose that the registre des parts be not a separate document, but a byproduct of tidy accounting.
How
The idea is this. Every time somebody puts money into Coral Reef, this is necessarily reflected by a bank account transaction (for now I have been using a virtual bank account). That transaction gets explained as
Money received from users => Received from [Reefling's name] => Reason: capital introduced
To see the registre des parts, just login to FreeAgent, then navigate to
Accounting => Reports => Show transactions => Capital and reserves
And it’s done!
