I wanted to let you know about an H&P event happening on the weekend of September 19th and 20th. It’s the Open House Weekend for co housing in Wallonia and Brussels, where various communal living projects will be opening their doors to the public.
Each participating co housing can choose how they’d like to engage visitors. This could include guided tours, informal meet-and-greets, coffee discussions, or even workshops and concerts. No matter the format, every interaction is valuable! It might be a good opportunity for us to find the last members for The Reef.
If you’re interested, you can find all the information on H&P site. And if you think it’s a good idea, if you want some help with it or if you need someone to attend, I’ll be happy to join/go.

Given our upcoming agenda schedule, Sunday, September 20th looks like the best and most feasible date for us to participate.
Habitat & Participation suggests different ideas on how to attract visitors:
Open doors (free access to the site)
Guided tours at set times
Informal meet-and-greets / Q&A sessions
Child-led tours (a fun way for the kids to show the space!)
Workshops, walks, or other activities
Our current option is to give a guided tour at set time. If you have any creative ideas to make the day even more inviting for potential visitors, please drop a reply in the thread below!
Since the 20th is also our regular Sunday Hangout day, we can turn this into a lovely group moment—maybe a picnic on site, followed by ice cream at Giotto afterward?

Quick update on where things stand for the Open Doors event!
@ChrisM, @Linggam, and @Wenwei — thanks a lot, let’s meet on site at 15:00.
I’ll bring all the usual materials like the plans, flyers, stickers, and visuals.
Just a heads-up that there are no facilities or logistics set up on site, and since it coincides with Car-Free Sunday, transporting extra gear might be a bit tricky. That said, if anyone has simple, low-budget ideas to make the space more welcoming, please drop them in the replies! Maybe big posters (and tape) to indicate the site is open for visit ? @Jolien, if your schedule changes and you end up being free, you are more than welcome to join us. @Odile you are welcome also even if you join us later.
On the admin side, I’ve officially registered us for the event and saved the confirmation message in this folder. @manuelpueyo, since the upcoming newsletter focuses on hospitality, this event feels like a natural fit—could we feature it in the events section using this registration link?
Finally, tagging @reef-exploring for visibility in case anyone wants to drop by and see the site in person!
We could put stakes in the ground to indicate the corners of the three buildings. Something I’d like to take up with the help of some measuring tools and a fellow amateur land surveyor. A permanent fixture until we start building. Any thoughts?
I’d be happy to be your sidekick for that sort of mission It would actually be super interesting to see the dimensions of the buildings clearly at this point…
