Small investment from me: a microsite for the Lab

Calling @Katebee @Nic010 @zazizoma .

I have decided to create (as in “pay for”) a simple (think WordPress template, or even just a HTML site of the kind generated by Lovable), sleek, static website for the Sci-Fi Economics Lab.

It will reuse some of the materials lying around and act as a landing page with (1) the concept, (2) some examples of past activities (but without trying to be thorough), (3) contact information.

@TamaraFoubert has volunteered to dust off her software dev skills.

Question to the rest of you: are you willing to help with the specifications? This includes tasks like:

  • Providing examples of websites whose style to imitate (while remaining very simple and technologically minimalistic)
  • Creating a list of the existing assets that the website should link, like the wiki, the Witness microsite, potentially nice pics if we have them, maybe other stuff too?
  • Providing Tamara with specifications for the site and liaising with her as she implements.

I would not spend more than 4 on this (excluding development and deployment).

If no one takes this up, I will do it myself, though it might take longer.

Sounds a great idea. I did my summa economica site myself with ChatGPT writing the HTML and it sits on a server who knows where, used to be in LA decades ago (accountsupport.com). www.summaeconomica.com
