After yesterday presentation (great!) I was left with a couple of ideas to further improve it. I want to note them here.
Shorten the blueprint section. Maybe there is no need for all of the origin stories of each decision (though some are definitely needed). One slide that can definitely go is the one about the theoretical common spaces that we foresaw two years ago.
Make a stronger pitch for why we have a competitive offer (the pitch has already improved a lot!):
Slide on actual common spaces. Mention the laundry room, the workshop and the guest suite. These are luxury living-level pluses that people do NOT get with immosites!
Slide on reduced costs of living and improved quality of life once we move in: mention bulk buying, the energy community, superlow energy costs.
Slide on advantages for children: the garden and especially the community. Huge economies of scale in childcare for some ages. Other young children already present - break through the only child syndrome. Talking to Michiel yesterday I could see that was his main motivator. Maybe have a quote from one of the parents in our group on the slide.
On the slide on the common spaces, I did adjust the one we used to have to reflect our current choices. I can make a mental note to spend two sentences on this, and emphasize the added value of the guest room, the workshop etc.
On reduced cost of living, improved quality of life and advantages for children I’m getting inspiration to add one extra slide after the “why are we building a cohousing” slide. I’ll add it to my list and will try to do it as soon as I can.
This seems like the right place to mention something that Alberto and I talked about at the presentation on Sunday, which is a family-themed edition of the newsletter. I’m under the impression that @reef-external are already thinking about how to attract more families in light of the 3-bedroom apartments left, so I’d be interested to hear if this is something that would fit in with what you’re doing. And also @Lee, as the long-time writer of newsletter until recently…
I would put that slide not in the “cohousing yay” part of the presentation, but in the “value vs. price” one, when we present the unit and their prices.
