Stewart Brand on climate change

Call me a sentimental, but Brand’s old voice really brings it home for me.

Is this recent? I like how he phrases it.
Lately I have been thinking about how the leaders of the biggest countries, at least most of them (US, China, Russia, Brazil but not India from what I can tell) are all climate deniers to one degree or another. Those leaders all see themselves as some form of Great Hero. So why would they go for the small prize of enrichment for themselves and their wealthy peers and walk away from leading a fight that, if successful or even partly so, would enshrine them in the great hero gallery of all time. Big countries led by small people.

“People in this century get to live in a century where humanity discover itself.”
We are a baby who’s discovering its own feet.
This is so well said.
