Study of the solar panels (Wa.L.K.)

HI @reef-coordination ,

I uploaded the file of the study about the solar pannels done by WA.l.k. on nextcloud (TB/avant projet/Solar panels)

@lee Shouldn’t we try to present this on Sunday’s plenary as well, information sharing.(if needed i can take it up on Saturday)

I’ve started a list of questions concerning this document. They are quite limiited and not super important.

Hi @Lee

I made a presentation for Sunday’s PM :Login – Nextcloud

No problem if you do not want to put it on the agenda.

Studying it closer while making the presentation, I do have some extra questions myself and I think - if we would manage to have an online meeting with WaLK next week - it would be interesting to see if there are no relevant questions coming from the group concerning this topic.

My big question is: I understood during the meetings with them that a battery would not be worth it, too expensive for now. If I understand their study well, than a battery is really worthwhile to have. In their technical note they seem to saying that as well. (if any of @reef-coordination would have time to look at this as well…)

If I may weigh in here: the cost/performance ratio of batteries is going to improve a lot in the coming 5-10 years. I suggest to ask for an configuration that makes the addition of a battery possible later but not necessary now.

Strange, I understood they do propose a battery, though it is still expensive.

EDIT: confirmed.

Afin d’optimiser l’autoconsommation de la production photovoltaïque, l’installation d’une ou plusieurs batterie(s) de stockage(s) est envisagée (p.9)

It’s a rack of 50 SMA Sunny Island, with a capacity of 56kWh.

yes, my understanding as well,

but during the meetings i had the impression that it wouldn’t be worthwhile…

Great stuff! Thanks a lot Els. It has helped me a lot.

I worry a bit that it’s a bit too detailed for the plenary meeting, but more importantly, that there are so many questions that we need to ask Walk, that I wonder whether it’s not better to keep it for the next meeting. Let’s talk tomorrow.
