Tomorrow, another social event from 6.30 pm…to get to know each other a little bit more …no rain foreseen !
2 propositions…either in Jette in Guinguette Fabiola, either in the city center with a creative activity (optional) at the Waux-hall in Royal Park - there is also a ginguette.
Who will be there ?
I’ll be there and prefer to meet in the Royal Park
Thanks for trying to keep the momentum going with the social events!!
I have the feeling that a few people are away at the moment, and others are juggling overloaded schedules. If tomorrow doesn’t take off, there is a brunch at Lie’s place on Sunday, and perhaps you, Sarah and I can meet up soon and think about one or two things over the rest of the “summer”…
Early november, I will organise a drink in a bar. The proposal would be to have this as the first of a monthly event
And at the end of november, we will have a Warewolves night organised by Mieke
@reef-communitylife will let you know the exact dates very soon so that you can book it!
We would also like to invite everybody to try and make these events regularly. Social events are a vital space for the community to meet and connect in a different context than plenaries, which is important for cohesion.
But it is also very important for exploring and even more so associate members’ onboarding. At the moment new people have to decide under high time pressure to join into a very exciting but demanding and expensive project, they need to know quickly that they really do want it, and for that, plot twist , they need to know that they like being around the people in it!
A few of the current associates have expressed to us how central the group is to their decision of joining, and current full members have expressed many times how much we like when other people become full members, so let’s get together as much as we can!!!
I’m grateful for the initiative, because I really love these events and the connection that they bring, and I’m afraid that personally I am not able to add a social event every two weeks on top of our schedule. In addition I would also love to organise more NVC practice sessions, which would make the agenda even more crowded.
Hence my questions: 1) can we evaluate this in 6-8 weeks to see how this is going? 2) is the objective mostly to connect, or mostly to invite Exploring Members?
I’m asking, because if it’s the latter, then we may need them less often as I expect we’ll be opening up shortly again.
Yes, I also have been wondering if it’s not a bit relentless…
But indeed the idea behind making these more regular was to make some space for exploring and associate members to meet the group and vice versa, given the fact that there have been hardly any opportunities for that now that the “open” plenaries are spaced out. If we review our meeting frequency, then we could reevaluate this.
But I would say it is also definetly about connection, and trying to make some space for softer interactions beyond working mode. And because not everybody can make an event, having more options gives more opportunities…
But again, happy to talk about it and review it if we think it’s not working…
Will do! Could @Sarah, @mieke and @anon36120994 let me know when a post gets made that is specific to these events, so that I can point the potential EMs in that direction for more info…
@reeflings just a little update that, with Thomas not continuing in the project, we will cancel the walk on 27/10.
Although if somebody feels a calling and wants to organise that, you are very welcomed to do so!
Hi @reeflings , because our schedule feels very full at the moment, @reef-communitylife proposes postponing next Friday’s game night. However, if you’d prefer to stick with the original date, let us know in the poll below.
I would like to keep the game night on Friday 22 November
I would like to postpone and join another time
I am not interested in game nights
I dont have an opinion about it

We also want to introduce a new tradition: a Stammtisch, an apéro gathering every first Wednesday of the month. I will start a new thread to announce the first one.
Hello team community,
I was thinking that the current expo „après la pluie“ of Brussel‘s sewer museum could be interesting for the group, as it focuses on sustainable solutions on how to manage Brussel‘s increasing precipitation. On the first Sunday of the month entrance is for free and Team community will appreciate the fact that there are many bars around the area https://sewermuseum.brussels/expos-apres-la-pluie/
