Team Inclusion: getting started

Hello!

Luc is up to meet in the evening during the week of the 22nd-26th.

Tuesday and Wednesday, some people from the Reef are already busy. What about (Monday), Thursday or Friday?

I can’t be on my computer these days. If someone wants to create a Doodle (I don’t remember the other name), please do! Otherwise, we can just say when we’re free this week and conclude then.

Thank you for the presentation. I have uploaded the minutes as well.
How do we proceed now? Do we contact the Oak Project or other associations Luc mentionned (and go through the golden circle)?

I would prefer to do a follow up meeting among us first, if that’s ok. Would anybody have the time to set up a Doodle to find a date?

My idea would be to roughly follow the same steps as Team Building for finding an agreement on the common spaces. In Team Inclusion’s case this would be the following:

  1. Do a brainstorming on the options that exist, including risks and benefits
  2. Write up a summary of the brainstorming
  3. Present the summary at a plenary meeting and take the time to collect feedback (so that we are clear about what the group thinks about our carrying capacity)
  4. Go out for a first round of meetings with third parties to introduce our project

So at the next meeting we could focus on the brainstorming?

Everything is fine with the Framadate, thanks Sophie. However, you’ll have to meet without me this time, because I’ll be on holiday (except on Sept. 9, when I have an event I cannot cancel).

So, the best day seems to be the 22.9. @Mas would you also be available that day? @Celine_D are you ok with “missing out” on that meeting or would you like to try different dates?

Shall we have a quick meeting on 22/09 then?

I would propose the following points for the agenda:

  1. Options for the inclusive units: preparation of a discussion at the plenary meeting
  2. How can we make The Reef more inclusive?

For the first point my hope is that we’ll have enough input to draft a short document that we could then share with the others for a quick discussion.

Would that work?

As discussed at the meeting, I have written a draft two-pager that could be used to initiate a discussion at a plenary meeting. I saved it in the Team Inclusion folder.

Feel free to do with it as you see fit.

@Sophie_Beese: I have tentatively put it on the agenda of the plenary meeting on 12/10. Should this not be possible, can you please let me know via Signal?

Hi! I recently read the minutes of the team meeting that took place while I was away. I saw “research tenant rights”. I know from experience that you can just sign a one-year-long contract.
And I became aware of a contract called “bail glissant”/“glijdende huurovereenkomst”, which might be of use to us: Bail d’habitation - Bruxelles Logement

Hi again! Sorry to write this so late… In the document for tonight, I suggest we re-draft “A unit could be owned by a cooperative (our own or an existing one)”
into “A unit could be owned by a cooperative or a foundation (our own or an existing one)”
or “A unit could be owned by a cooperative (our own or an existing one) or another legal structure”
because I don’t think we should exclude any kind of structure at this stage (or did I miss a decision we made?).

Thanks for that @Celine_D. You are right: it could be any legal structure. It was just a lazy use of words :slight_smile:

On that topic: would you be willing to bring this topic back to the agenda of Team Finance? We have the opportunity to talk to a lawyer who is specialised in this kind of stuff, but it got stalled because we weren’t clear how we were going to make decisions together about money. Now that we’ll be making a budget until April 2023 that problem should be solved shortly.

  • Discussion of the input from the plenary meeting on 12/10 + drawing up an action plan
