What is the single biggest barrier to trusting public institutions in your local community, and one way to address it?
The biggest barrier in trusting public institutions in my local community is represented by the intricacies of the political parties that have the power within the institution. Altough the official say the do follow the public interest, in more ocasions, they do follow the interest of their own party and sometimes they block decisions that can bring good impact into the community.
One way to mitigate this, in my opinion, is to have Participatory Budgeting that would allow interested citizen to create and pass decisions about projects that do bring a good impact into the community, thus no party can revoke or vote against good measures, just to protect their own interests.

In my local community in Italy, the biggest barrier to trusting public institutions is the feeling that they are often inefficient and not transparent enough. When processes are slow and communication is unclear, people can easily become frustrated and disconnected. One way to address this would be to improve transparency and accountability at the local level, for example by clearly explaining decisions, publishing progress updates, and creating more direct channels for citizen participation.
