The Form for submitting service provider is listed as an annexe to the Request for proposal. It needs to be filled to have a viable proposal.
Part 1 deals with the qualifications of the company making the proposal, i.e. Edgeryders LBG. Of the bullet points listed, please write company profile and track record. Please refer to section 4 of the TOR. I suggest one or two paragraphs for company profile and a bullet-point list for track record. Take some care writing it, as these can be reused. Do this by Monday January 6th at 16.00.
The Service Provider must describe and explain how and why they are the best entity that can deliver the requirements of UNDP by indicating the following:
a) Profile – describing the nature of business, field of expertise, licenses, certifications, accreditations;
The Edgeryders company operates in the field of open consulting, providing expert advice to corporate and governmental organisations alike. We deploy community building tools and cutting edge research techniques to detect, aggregate and analyse citizen spotted solutions to key economic, ecological, political challenges that societies are faced with.
We are driven by a not-for-profit motivation and a people centric approach. Citizens everywhere are innovating, from facilitating monetary democracy, to making better use of public resources and to creating alternative spaces for political participation. Edgeryders engages and connects them in an active, global community of over 1700 ready to rally to any given problem, share advice and learn from one another. The Edgeryders online interactive platform is hosted on free and open source software and kept open for anyone wishing to join, with members contributing their expertise to a diversity of topics and projects. By fostering collaboration on a massive scale we are able to amplify collective intelligence and wire seemingly disparate initiatives and points of view towards a theory of social change and ultimately more grounded public policy.
d) Track Record – list of clients for similar services as those required by UNDP, indicating description of contract scope, contract duration, contract value, contact references;
Council of Europe (July 2011 – December 2012). Edgeryders founders designed and ran the project where Edgeryders was born: a research on how young Europeans are transitioning to an independent life during a period of economic crisis, mass unemployment and political unrest. Participants were asked to share their individual experiences online as part of a curated conversation. Techniques such as online ethnography and network analysis were deployed to analyze the data, followed by community validation and drafting of public policy recommendations. A significant achievement is that of a full-fledged community thriving beyond the scope of the project, giving rise to projects and collaborations between members.
Global Challenge, Sweden (January 2013 – March 2013). Edgeryders was commissioned to detect trends in employment and participation of youth in the Baltic Sea Region. The exercise resulted in an anthology on the state of youth in the region, whose list of contributors included members in our network with a distinct voice and reputation in their communities.
Matera Committee 2019, Italy (July 2014 – May 2014). A partnership where Edgeryders is embedding expert knowledge for social innovation in a local community in Southern Italy. We are mobilizing the online community to co-design the project “unMonastery” and have successfully brought on site 100 international change makers to exchange expertise and advice. Our contribution has aided Matera land the shortlist for European Capital of Culture 2019.
