Community Gathering Tbilisi

Please join the Edgeryders community gathering this Wednesday! You might have met him last year, but one of Edgeryders’ founders, Alberto Cottica, is in town and he would love to see what’s happening on the edge in Tbilisi. We will meet at 11.30. at the Regional Development for the Future of Georgia. (address below)

Why are we meeting up? (and why is Alberto in town?)

Last year Edgeryders and the United Nations Development Program started collaborating around a new project in three countries: we called it Spot the Future. It engaged over a 130 participants in Georgia, Armenia and Egypt in a massive, peer to peer conversation online (on the Edgeryders platform) and offline (in various workshops and a final conference, Futurespotters).

We realized that a recurring obstacle to engage support for innovative work seemed to be making the connection between projects/ efforts to tackle challenges at a micro-scale, and larger problems that ‘would be’ supporters are faced with.

Edgeryders is now working on how to tackle this, in a project between UNV and UNDP: to identiy, pilot and scale up innovative youth volunteering initiatives, called Future Makers.

In Future Makes our primary focus is to build concrete ways for innovators and activists to support each others work, peer to peer. We want to hear from you: what do you do to change your community for the better and what obstacles do you face?

(and we are simultaneously making a book with interesting case-studies which could feature your story as well! More on that here, or join the community gathering and find out)

When? Wednesday July 15th, 11.30AM

Where? Regional Development for the Future of Georgia

Date: 2015-07-15 07:30:00 - 2015-07-15 07:30:00, Asia/Tbilisi Time.
